Progress
Here's what I'm up to from those sketches that I posted earlier. It'll be finished by the end of the week, probably. I'm kind of liking the colour rough a wee bit better. We'll see what we can do to make this a little less like cut outs... even though that's what I'm going for!!
Folk
Mmmm being ill gives me more thinking time. While I was on the couch last night I produced two sketches, one of which I've worked up. It's pretty much inspired by the cute little Winnipeg band at folk fest. I had their banjo in there too... but it looks so much better cropped. It still needs some fixing up.
And as homage to my city, it'll be the base for the skyline in the background.

Slacking
Yeah, so I kind of failed to update right after I finished my cut paper thing! I've been sick with tonsillitis, so that hasn't been so great. Mmm! I'll get back on things soon! Go check out the website if you want to see the finished piece of the post below.
[edit] Okay here's some speed painting just to keep in the habit.

I'll be putting off sketching until the post card is done.
EDIT: This will just be post card 1/2. This will be a hand crafted one, with real cut paper. The second post card, which will also be used to do up my business card, will be the vector approach. I'll also be putting my best and most elaborate textures to work for that one. I'm excited!

Red, ect...
I'm working on developing that character that I drew on the previous post. We'll call him Red for now (real creative I know). Just messing around! My favourite is the middle.
These last two sketches are kind of just random stuff. Character to the left, is white trash. The inspiree shall remain nameless. The sketch to the right is drawn from me in a mirror.

Old Work
Hmm. No new sketches to post today. I did want to post some older work from last semester. I felt these pieces didn't really have the finish to post on my webs site. Here's a special view of the stuff that wasn't good enough to make the cut. They're inspired from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.

Scribbles.
A couple of pages from my sketchbook combined. It's basicly all the stuff I can stand all combined into two pages. It's all I've done since I've been back besides a book of hands and feet sketches I've been working on. I'll post the good stuff from that later.
Oh yes, I also forgot about something I wanted to post for a while. There was a blog roll ages ago for Super Girl sketches. I always thought it would've been fun to participate in so here we go. Ages too late, but what the hell, eh?
I'm still messing around with the layout of the posts. Bear with me, folks.

Starting now!
5... 6... 7... 8...
Okay! Here we go! This is my goal, to actually post my sketches starting today. It took me only four months to get going.
So here we have a sketch of Meg, from the White Stripes. Ahh my boyfriend has me on a bit of an addiction to them, because they seem like such an amazing band. They're red, black, and white themed you just can't go wrong there.
Background is a combo of textures. I just bought that paper today too so I had to try it out on something.
And this is a rough that I'm working on. It'll be cut paper when it's all done. Monster in the forest. And no it's not underneath a blanket. I'll have to fix it. It's supposed to be stylized fur. Humm!
